William Frank Brunner was born in 1924 to Leon S. Brunner and Marion C. Brunner in Colorado. He enlisted in the Navy on February 27, 1941 and reported for duty on the USS Utah on July 29, 1941. He was killed in action on December 7, 1941 during the attack on Pearl Harbor. He was posthumously awarded the Purple Heart and remains on duty with his shipmates on the USS Utah. William is commemorated on the Memorial Tablets of the Missing, National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific.
